Salary Transparency Is Becoming One of the Biggest HR Topics in Luxembourg

Since the beginning of the year, one thing has clearly accelerated in Luxembourg: companies are reaching out to us more than ever to understand what is really happening on the market.

And interestingly, it’s no longer only about recruitment.

More and more HR teams, Managing Directors, and leadership teams are asking us to help them understand:

  • where the market currently stands,
  • which positions have become the hardest to hire,
  • what candidates realistically expect today,
  • and especially… what the actual salary benchmarks are across Finance, Legal, and Executive-level roles in Luxembourg.

With the European Pay Transparency Directive coming into effect soon, many companies are preparing internally and reassessing their compensation structures before June.

What we see today is that HR departments are actively trying to:

  • benchmark salaries against the market,
  • review their internal salary grids,
  • identify potential gaps,
  • and ensure their compensation policies truly reflect market reality.

And the level of involvement requested from recruitment partners has changed massively.

We are now regularly asked to prepare detailed market studies, salary benchmark reports, and sometimes even PowerPoint presentations that will be presented directly to Boards or Executive Committees.

Just recently, we visited a major bank in Luxembourg that specifically asked us to help structure a presentation for their Board regarding current market salary standards and hiring realities.

This shows how strategic recruitment market intelligence has become.

Because today, having access to real market data is no longer “nice to have” for HR teams — it’s becoming essential for:

  • attracting talent,
  • retaining employees,
  • avoiding internal inequities,
  • and staying competitive in a market where expectations have evolved very quickly over the past two years.

Especially in sectors like:

  • Investment Funds
  • Banking
  • Fiduciary & Accounting
  • Legal & Compliance
  • Executive Leadership

At Austin Bright, this is exactly the type of partnership we enjoy building with companies: not just helping them hire, but helping them understand the market, anticipate trends, and make informed strategic HR decisions.

The Luxembourg market is evolving fast and the companies preparing today will clearly have an advantage tomorrow.
